Windows Registry Repair

Windows Vista and Windows XP should not require as much cleaning intervention in the registry as the Windows 9x series. This is because the registry is designed differently for the later operating systems. However, if you find your PC is running slowly, here are a few things you can do.

Ensure Your PC Isnt Trying To Startup Redundant Applications

Often your PC performance will be slow on startup because Windows is trying to find and start applications that are no longer installed on your computer. Have a quick look through the startup folder on the your start menu and ensure that you are not trying to start dead, memory hungry or disk intensive applications.

Ensure You Have A Sufficient Amount Of Disk Space

A huge problem when starting applications can be a lack of disk space. There needs to be a sufficient amount of free disk space in order for applications to start and operate at their optimum. This disk space is used for temporary files. Especially memory hungry applications need lots of spare disk space when they are in operation.

Consider More RAM

Consider adding more memory to your PC to improve performance.

Now ” See Each Other ” while talking on your Phone- both landline and mobile phones.

Multi-play Telephony (Video, Voice, Data, Mobile, Security and Utilities) is round the corner, to storm the Telecom market. A new model for multimedia telephony usage is emerging that is ad hoc, on demand, and generally inexpensive. Users receive the benefits multimedia can bring, with the ease and reliability of placing a plain old phone call.

One may legitimately ask why video telephony, a compelling subset of multi-play networks, will take off and why it will be any different from desktop videoconferencing, whose adoption rates are very low in spite of being around for more than two decades?

The key for the success of multi-play telephony is the deployment of ultra high density Packet switched Class 5/4 networks with carrier grade QOS. A number of technological developments and events are making a compelling case for multi-play telephony to succeed: high speed broadband, wireless LANs, DSP Chip technology, powerful PCs, Open SIP Standards, Maturing Open source software, maturing standards for video compression and video switching.

In other words it is - SMARTER. SHARPER. SIMPLER.

Google Chrome- The New Age Internet Browser

For those who keep abreast of Google’s latest announcements you may be aware Google released to the public yesterday outlining Googles new internet browser - Google Chrome.

First off, Google Chrome is not just your average web browser, it has been designed from the ground up to work with todays applications. To do this it runs every new object through a new process.  Oppose this to current browsers which run a single process for everything.

This gives three major benefits to you the internet browser-

Speed - Instead of things loading one at a time Google Chrome streamlines the downloading of webpages by assigning processes to each and every element

Stability - If something crashes, usually a java script, it normally closes every single window and tab you were browsing, with Google Chrome if you suffer a crash it will only crash that elements process, meaning only one tab/window will close!

Resources - In current browsers a single process picks up and manages a single block of memory in your system.  Slowly but surely as you close and open items this increases in size as fragments of data do not get removed from your system.  In Google Chrome because you are running several processes with several memory assignments your computer can easily clean up your memory every time you close a webpage.

Technically the Pros for Google Chrome

  • JavaScript, V8 Virtual Machine
    * Special Tabs specially for Google Chrome
    * Auto-completion address bar
    * Speed Dial feature by Google Chrome
    * Privacy mode
    * Security to fight malware and phishing attempts

Cons Against Google Chrome

  1. Most new browser or software products have significant bugs or security flaws that need to be ironed out and these only get discovered when they are released to the general public. Look at Microsoft, who are notourious for doing this and leave consumers open to hacking attacks.

    2. Do we really need an open source web browser and will providing one simply mean that unscrupulous hackers will try to exploit unknowledgeable internet users?

Rest assured this would be one of the areas people would be closely watching for.

PC Crash ?

Do you often experience computer freezes and crashes?

Have you ever lost important information stored on your PC due to a system crash?

If your answer is yes, then keep reading. This article deals with common causes of system crashes and specific methods to fix windows freeze problems and prevent system crashes by maintaining a healthy and error-free system.

If the performance of your system deteriorates and you encounter an unexpected system crash, it may be due to some kind of malware infection present on your system. Some of the malware programs include viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, and adware. Malware can enter into your system through various mediums including unsecure Internet connections, open network shares, spam e-mails and e-mail attachments. Where spyware programs secretly attack your system and start stealing all important information from the system, virus and Trojan files start multiplying as soon as the enter your system and immediately fill up the entire network with scores of malicious files. If there is a severe virus attack, these files are likely to cause significant damage to your computer.  They may even wipe your hard disk completely and cause data loss.

To prevent these problems, you can use antivirus and antispyware tools. If you want to maintain an error-free system, it is important that you have both of these tools on your system. You must ensure that you regularly update the definitions of these tools. These tools are equipped with a real-time feature, which can be enabled to provide round-the-clock malware protection to your PC. You must also run periodic full system scans to eliminate any malicious information that might enter your system despite of all these protective measures.

If you are witnessing a slow but continuous decline in your computer’s performance, it’s usually due to problems in the Windows registry and the hard disk of your PC. You are likely to face registry-related problems in your computer when your registry is flooded with unwanted, archaic, and inaccurate registry entries. Therefore, the increasing size of the registry makes it unstable and might cause severe damage to its files. You may also encounter several computer errors such as DLL errors and driver errors. Therefore, it is important to maintain a clutter-free registry by compressing its files, decreasing its size and removing unwanted data from it. This can be done with the help of an effective registry cleaner tool, which is compatible with your Windows operating system. This tool allows you to perform the following tasks:

  • Scan and eliminate redundant information from your system’s registry.
  • Fix invalid registry entries.
  • Defrag the registry and compress the size of its files.
  • Backup the registry to ensure that it’s easily restored if the system crashes.

If you perform the above tasks, you can optimize the registry of your system and also enhance the speed of your computer.

The growth of unwanted files and fragmented data on your hard disk can also lead to hard disk problems. This can severely affect the performance of your system and is likely to cause physical damage to the hard disk. However, you can prevent these problems by following a few simple Windows repair methods. The hard disk problems can be fixed using the Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter tools, which are available with your Windows XP and Vista operating system. While the Disk Cleanup tool allows you to remove unwanted files from system’s hard disk, the Disk Defragmenter tool helps you to reinstate the contiguity of fragmented files on your Windows PC.
